Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
Do you ever wonder what Gods will is for your life? Do you wonder if you really have a purpose?
I know I have and just when I think I’ve found “it”, God interrupts and says- Ada, look this way. Now unless you’re Moses I doubt God will literally speak to you but if you have a steady diet of His word and listen with your whole heart, you will hear a still small voice in your heart and feel a nudge from the Holy Spirit. To really hear the heart of God, you have to give him yours! That doesn’t mean running to Him with the laundry list of gimme’s but rather truly giving Him your whole heart. Sometimes the steps God has asked me to take were a little scary. I felt vulnerable, but you know what? I had peace. Even in the most uncomfortable situations I had peace. That is how I feel the assurance of the Holy Spirit. I’ve never met anyone who knew exactly how their lives would play out. Life is full of twists and turns and ups and downs sometimes those changes are very unpredictable. God never changes. God never lies. God loves you as much on your worst day as He does on your best, you can trust Him. If you’re seeking direction in your life the only way you’re going to hear from Him is to ask and listen. Sometimes over and over again you will be asking and listening. Sometimes we feel as if we’re making no progress at all and wonder if he really hears. Then then we suddenly realize, we’ve actually taken a giant leap. God truly is the giver of every good gift. Peace, love, patience, endurance through trials, comfort, kindness, gentleness, strength, provision, these are a few of the gifts I cherish from the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, I’ve come to the conclusion that His purpose is for all of us to truly know Him and His love, allowing it to fully heal all of us from the inside out, and then share it liberally with everyone we encounter. Not just with those that we deem worthy, but everyone. He is a good good Father.
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” ~ Jesus
