Your Love Brightens the World
There are days when I wake up, and the sun seems to be shining extra brightly, days when it feels as though all is well. There are also days when troubles, concerns and worries seem to labor against the peace that filled my sunny days. It’s in those days that it literally takes a concerted effort to remind myself to focus on the good. God is so good to me.
Father, I thank you for your unwavering love. Thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for your comfort in times of great distress. Thank you for the joy that always surrounds you. Thank you that you care about even the smallest intimate details of my life. Thank you that you did not leave me where you found me. Thank you that you promise to never leave or forsake me. Father help me to radiate that same love back to every single life I encounter. Help me to meditate on the good and let it overflow to everyone you place on my path today and always.
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
